About the Role

What You'll Do (other duties may be assigned)

  • Find, build, and keep quality clients in the fire alarm market that fit the company's growth plans
  • Create and run market-specific business plans for growth
  • Service existing accounts to keep retention high while cross-selling across the full product line
  • Submit orders using current price lists and product literature
  • Keep management in the loop with activity and results reports, including daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory reviews
  • Track the competition by gathering current information on pricing, products, new releases, delivery timelines, and merchandising
  • Recommend changes to products, service, and policy based on results and what competitors are doing
  • Estimate projects, including fixed-price service, ranging from $100K to $1MM and up
  • Handle customer complaints by digging into the problem, working out solutions, writing up reports, and bringing recommendations to management
  • Own every project in your portfolio from start to finish

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus 3+ years of related experience or training, or an equivalent mix of both
  • Prior fire alarm or low-voltage sales experience required

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
